This was taken in a street in Kasese town. This boy approached me with his sister. They didn’t know a word of English so had to communicate with me by ‘gesture’. I finally understood what they were trying to get across to me. I took their photograph so that they could see what they look like. (It is not common for homes to have mirrors in Uganda, hence some of the children I met had not really seen themselves before). It is easy living in the UK to take a lot for granted. But when this happened, I had a greater realisation of how fortunate I am.
